Where Do I Belong

In my journey through life; work, school, marriage, raising children and aging in later life, there is one common denominator.  Where do I belong?   These thoughts begin in early life. The first day of school., as you leave your home to engage others socially in school settings.  The very first day, it is not who your teacher is, not what you are going to learn.  It’s where am I going to to sit.  By whom. In the front or in the back of the classroom. As I pondered these experiences as an artist, I was inspired to paint the “Chairs”.  By profession, I am both an artist and psychologist/therapist. I combined my knowledge in these two fields to create a series of art that expressed what I thought was important to all of us in our life experiences.   This piece is one of my most significant paintings.  Enjoy your creative journey!
